For the 3rd edition of the Maia International Film Festival, we undertook a comprehensive redesign of the festival’s visual identity and digital presence. Our goal was to create a cohesive experience that reflects the festival’s cinematic spirit and commitment to storytelling, both on and off the screen.

Key Highlights of the Redesign
Bold Visual Identity: The new graphic design elements, including the striking black-and-yellow color palette and illustration, were integrated into the website’s hero section. These elements not only capture the essence of cinema but also create an immediate visual connection to the festival’s branding, visible throughout the Fórum da Maia venue.

Program-Centric Design: The full festival program remains at the heart of the website. Each film is presented with detailed information, synopses, screening times, and director notes, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the stories before the lights dim. The layout ensures clarity and accessibility, so attendees can easily navigate the diverse lineup, from world premieres like Influenca: Controlling Crowds to Portuguese premieres such as Divine Comedy and Maria.

Thoughtful Typography and Clean Aesthetics: We prioritized readability and elegance, using typography that complements the festival’s modern yet timeless vibe. The design avoids distractions, ensuring that the focus remains on what truly matters: the art of cinema.

Seamless Mobile Experience: Recognizing the importance of accessibility, we optimized the mobile version to deliver the same impact as the desktop site.
